MAXION, the UAE’s first matchmaking app, reported 93% month-on-month growth just twelve weeks after launch. In March 2024 it secured $600,000 in pre-seed funding at a $5 million valuation cap.
With more than 1,600 applicants on the waitlist, the company opened a seed round of $1.2–1.5 million. The money was earmarked for expanding UAE market share, launching in new GCC markets, building an Indian connections portal, and localising the product for Muslim marriages. Technical work included migrating to Flutter for Android and developing the AI matching further.
MAXION was founded by matchmaker Christiana Maxion and offers a personal, vetted alternative to swipe-based dating apps. Read the original story on My Startup World.
